Karen E. Peters, DrPH
Dr. Peters holds joint
appointments as an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Administration at
the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health,
Assistant Professor in the UIC Graduate College of UIC. She is also Adjunct Assistant
Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and is Director of
Research and Evaluation in the National
Center for Rural Health Professions, College of Medicine
- Rockford. In
addition, she holds a faculty affilitations
with UIC's Institute for Health Research and Policy in the Illinois Prevention
Research Center and in the Center for Research on Health and Aging where she is
Co-Investigator. She possesses extensive
experience in evidence based community health intervention development,
implementation, evaluation and diffusion, most recently in the areas of
cardiovascular disease, arthritis and oral health among minority and rural
populations. Her area of expertise is tanslation of population-based health
promotion and disease prevention interventions to practice.
