Cambio de Colores - Latinos In Missouri received the 2004 ACHE Region VIII Exceptional Non-Credit Program (Conference) Award. This Award has been based on the first and second annual conferences.

ACHE is the Association for Continuing Higher Education, Inc. Its Region VIII comprises Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Manitoba, Oklahoma, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and South Dakota. Three Awards were given for the whole region: Exceptional Credit Program; Exceptional Non-Credit Program; and Exceptional Non-Credit Program (Conference), the latter to the University of Missouri-Columbia for Cambio de colores (Change of Colors) Latinos in Missouri.

The award was presented Friday, February 27, 2004, at a bi-regional ACHE meet at Columbia College. The submission for the award was prepared by the MU Conference Office, and the award was received by its director, Joy Millard, on behalf of all the people that put together Cambio de Colores. Conference founders Corinne Valdivia and Steve Jeanetta were also present. Domingo Martínez made a 10 minute presentation about the conference.

The conference was started and continues to be led by members of MU's Hispanic & Latin American Faculty & Staff Association.
